NORA Tea is an easy and delicious way to gently prepare your body for birth. This herbal tea is made of Nettle, Oatstraw, Red Raspberry and Alfalfa, all of which serve a purpose. The Nettle in NORA Tea supports the Immune, Muscular, Circulatory and Endocrine systems. It can reduce the risk of bleeding at delivery and support breastmilk production afterwards. Oatstraw supports the Skeletal, Digestive, Endocrine and Nervous systems and serves as a uterine tonic. I have also noticed an improvement in my aching legs since using it. Red Raspberry supports the Circulatory, Digestive and Urinary systems. It can also serve as a uterine tonic but my experience is that it calms my irritable uterus and Braxton Hicks contractions. Uterine tonics can help increase the efficacy of contractions during labor but decrease the length of labor and pain of contractions. Red Raspberry can also assist in postpartum healing and milk production. Alfalfa supports the Endocrine and Digestive systems. Some research has also suggested that dairy cows grazed on Alfalfa produce higher volume and higher fat content milk. In my experience, Alfalfa has helped me increase the fat content in my breastmilk.
What does all of this mean for you? NORA Tea can help normalize blood pressure, stabilize blood sugar, reduce bleeding, tone the uterus, shorten labor and increase breastmilk production. What reasonable person would pass this up? My midwife Kiesha Baker, CPM, discussed NORA Tea with me early in pregnancy and recommended starting at 16 weeks. I had my herbs ready to go at 16 weeks on the dot! This stainless tea canister makes it easy to mix the herbs and store them between batches. I've been brewing my NORA Tea daily and allowing it to steep overnight to maximize its nutritional benefits. I even purchased a tea pot to make the process quicker and easier. I just bring the water to a boil and drop my mixed herbs in with this oversized tea infuser. I let the herbs brew overnight and wash the pot in the morning. Super simple! If you could improve your pregnancy and birth with minimal effort, why not?
