If you have been online recently, I'm sure you saw the story regarding heavy metal toxins in prepared baby food from multiple popular manufactures. The FDA was aware of these dangers and did not alert the public. Class action lawsuits are already in the works. This is yet another example of systemic and regulatory disregard for the most vulnerable members of our society: our children! I hear mothers say they do not have the time to make baby food. Personally, I find it is quicker to throw some fruits and veggies in the food processor than it is to go to the store. If you don't want to make "baby food", skip that step entirely and try baby led weaning and feed your baby exactly what the rest of the family is eating. Problem solved!
The food we feed our babies in this formative time of physical, neurological and cognitive development is crucial! It is well worth the time it takes to either make your own baby food or figure out a healthy strategy that works for your family.
